For more detailed information on our Benefits and what it is like to work for Amentum: please visit our careers site.The successful candidate will have outstanding skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best in class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction.As a facility maintenance/plumbing systems technician, you will be responsible for daily support activities, including:Providing advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative and predictive maintenance to general facilities systems equipment to include but not limited to plumbing, mechanical equipment, pumps, piping, backflows, drains, and other equipment as directed.Repairing maintenance and mechanical building systems including but not limited to Chilled water, Reheat, Potable and Non-potable, Hot water distribution and specific components, Distilled water & reverse Osmosis systems, lab Gas systems, High & Low Vacuum systems, Instrument air Compressors and dryers, waste discharge systems consisting of effluent, Lab Waste, storm and sewage.Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Perform periodic maintenance on backflow preventers, eyewash/safety showers, and water filtration systemsGeneral understanding of lock out tag out procedures and applicationRespond to work orders associated with building equipment.Inspects major equipment and/or operating systems and takes corrective actions as necessary.Operate hand tools including grinders, saws, impact wrenches, standard wrenches, drills, and similar instruments.Ensures all appropriate mechanical operations, standards, controls, and specifications, are maintained at a high level of quality. Systems/Equipment to include pumps, fans, heat exchangers, and associated valves, etc.Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.Installs and repairs bathroom plumbing fixturesDiagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial facility mechanical systems, facility equipment and systems,Performs preventive and predictive maintenance inspections and actions such as water filtration systemsPerforms pipefitting repairs.Works within the context of a team and at times with minimal supervisionEnsures excellent customer service and safe work environment.Complies with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)As the facility maintenance/plumbing systems technician you will be expected to:Work in a team environment with a one team mentality; be friendly, respectful, empathetic, and professional to teammates and clients.Value and respect employee authenticity and demonstrate cultural awareness to create a memorable experience and a respectful workplace.Balance workload and multiple tasks while focusing on attention to detail and prioritizing assignments.Take initiative to resolve issues that arise and solve problems independently; shift priorities as needed or requested by management and remain flexibleOther duties as assigned by managementCommunicationKnowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePointAbility to communicate clearly via phoneAbility to work closely with customer during site emergencies.Excellent oral and written communicationsExcellent interpersonal skills, i.e., listening to customer needs, articulating path forward and giving solutions that provide value to the customer, etc.Accurately document electronic and paper cataloging system to provide information to customer or regulatory personnel.Strive for quick complaint resolution; to resolve problems on the first call and avoid escalation of issues through operational knowledge.Minimum Requirements:3 years' experience in the field of mechanical maintenance and plumbingMust have hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical building systems.Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for several types of respirators.Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.Some physical/special requirements include:Regularly lift to 50 lbsRegularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffoldingRepetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement.Walk extensively throughout the facility during shiftWork at an accelerated pace in emergency conditionsWear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.Preferred Requirements:Technical degree preferred.Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals or pharmaceutical campuses.Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus.Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Backflow preventer testing certifiedP-1 or P-2 licensePay based on licenses and years of experienceCompensation Details:38.00-43.00The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
